Projects that shipped, survived and taught something

A selection of hardware designed and tested end to end, from LoRa mesh hardware for the Arctic to automotive-grade sensing on a student budget. Each entry: the problem, the solution.

Arctic LoRa mesh node

Problem. A startup product needed long-range wireless sensor nodes that could survive deployment in Greenland, where temperatures reach minus 40 degrees Celsius and maintenance visits are nearly impossible.

Solution. A complete Arctic-grade LoRa mesh sensor node built around the STM32WL55 at 868 MHz. The work covered RF design and impedance matching, battery management and power electronics, and embedded firmware. The design was verified in a climate chamber down to minus 40 degrees Celsius, covering the full journey from schematic to environmental proof.

Star Tracker 3000

Problem. High schools and preschools wanted a hands-on way to teach students about the night sky, but professional tracking equipment is expensive, stationary and complicated.

Solution. A portable star tracker that follows stars or satellites across the sky through the night and films them with an external camera. It can be set up anywhere and customized through an API and GPS to track whatever the lesson calls for, turning any schoolyard into an observatory.

Wheel speed sensor PCB

Problem. The DTU Roadrunners eco-car team needed wheel speed measurement with automotive precision, but on a student team's power budget and parts list.

Solution. A precision wheel speed sensor PCB spanning industrial automotive-grade sensing down to a hobby-grade Teensy platform, with minimal current consumption and configurable filtering options. Accurate data for race strategy without draining the energy budget the car competes on.
